An interesting design decision for WebDAV (and probably for FlatAtompub) is building it as a WSGI app vs. middleware.

What are your thoughts on whether WebDAV (or FlatAtompub) is best implemented as an WSGI application or WSGI middleware, or does it matter?

Your little decorator is very similar to the one I wrote recently for skunk.web (in skunk.web.controller), which is webob-based btw. The response object being a WSGI application makes things very convenient, and the framework flows from it very naturally.

Eh, so much for shrinking.

Is locking at all optional in WebDAV? I was hoping it was.

<blockquote>
This makes me wonder how hard WebDAV would be…
</blockquote>

locking is a pain...
